7 Nights- Egypt Vacation W/Nile Cruise & Air

Absolutely not a 5 star hotel. Stayed twice as part of an arranged tour with travel talk. First night 31.03.24, second night 06.04.24. - Electrics in rooms were dodgy, light in bathroom didn’t work and air con was hot, couldn’t get it cooler than 20 degrees. - Staff not helpful and quite rude at times. - Prices for drinks are extortionate, stayed at the Steinberger hotel in Luxor and it was cheaper there and a far better experience. - Poor options for vegetarians on the food menu and the room service menu although it is 40+ pages long, about 10% of it was available to order. - There were loud arguments happening on Saturday evening with men shouting and having to be separated, one of whom was carrying a gun which made me feel quite intimidated and certainly not what I’d expect to see in a ‘5*’ hotel bar. It lasted for about 10 minutes, one of the people arguing worked for the hotel, so was quite shocked when it wasn’t being handled better. - Booked in at the spa, or so we thought, the spa colleague wrote our appointment on tissue box lid and told us to come back at 12pm. I should’ve know then that it wouldn’t happen. We came back at 12 to find no-one on reception but three people sat on the gym equipment talking, a lady eventually came to see us and we told her about our appointment and she was rude and didn’t seem to acknowledge we have one. She walked off laughing and back to her two colleagues who had now moved and walked off. Then the person who we booked with appeared and told us that the female therapist wasn’t in but my partner could have a treatment as the male therapist was in. I asked why he didn’t call us to notify us and he said he’d just called her and she didn’t answer, so I couldn’t have one as there was no woman to provide the treatment, but there were men who could, but that wasn’t given to me as an option. I would recommend you avoid this hotel, unless you want to experience poor service, rude people, the threat of loud arguments with hotel employees and poorly furnished rooms. The worst thing about it was the staff didn’t seem to care about the service being provided, which is sad. I must say the Italian restaurant and the breakfast buffet were great quality and the teams in there were fantastic.
