Great boutique hotel. We stayed here for a few days and so glad we did. Great value for a 3 star hotel, its location is very close, walking distance within 15mins of the Acropolis, Plaka and the centre of Athens. The view from the roof top of the acropolis is fantastic, breakfast is a great size and has lots of options. Pastries come out of the oven each morning, plenty of options. You can make fresh orange juice and they will cook you fresh eggs on toast for no extra cost on request. Only downside was no barista coffee but there are plenty of cafes very close by and the coffee machine was still ok for a basic cappuccino. Only regular milk though, there are no other options. We booked a basic comfort and Rooms are small but very clean and comfortable and the beds are good. Was enough for what we needed. House keeping is everyday and all the staff were always so helpful. We asked for extra water bottles and they were more than happy to accommodate. They also held out luggage for a day and had us checked in 4 hours early, they went above and beyond. Would definitely return.

Good hotel. We just stayed just the 1 night while in Athens. Good location for the metro and Acropolis. The view from the upper bar is a little misleading but is still nice. Great services from very professional staff in a room with city view.

We stayed in one of the 5 rooms on the first floor. The location is very good. A few minutes walk from sunset spot, street food, supermarket, and main bus terminal. Our room has a city view of the roof of the shops opposite the hotel. The services were great. I have no complains. The room is perfect and matches with the descriptions on the website that we used to book the room. The airport transfer is €30 one way in cash. The environment tax is €4.50. Breakfasts were good quality and quantity. Instant coffee provided in the room. There was a blackout for 15 minutes during our stay. Emergency light above the door worked well. One 1.5-litre bottle water given during our 3-night stay. In a nutshell, we love the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Overall experience was great.

The hotel is fantastic, and their terrace offers the best views of the sunset. The hotel is well located, very near to the taxi & bus station, near to some good restaurants, and the cable car. For the price this boutique hotel is amazing. The view of the Caldera from our balcony was stunning. Breakfast served to your patio each morning. Water bottles in the fridge. Tea kettle with tea and coffee. Iron and ironing board. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Very walkable to restaurants.For the price this boutique hotel is amazing. Return to the Theoxenia.

We went to this hotel to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary. This was our second visit to the Theoxenia and third to Santorini.
We chose to stay in one of their Caldera view rooms. It was very comfortable and was well worth the stair climb to get there.

It was always going to be a difficult act to follow for this hotel as we had been to Sani the year before. It is a really nice hotel but it definitely felt a bit like a second rate Sani.

The room was fantastic – we had a two-bedroom suite with private pool and great views. The kids loved the private pool. The only negative was that by about 3pm it was in the shade.
The water park was great – again fantastic for the kids. It was a bit annoying to trek through the car park and up a hill to get to it but not a big deal.
The service in the bars in the evening was great
Negatives
The mini bar in the room was rarely topped and the fridge temperatures were warm. The service at the restaurants was not great. At the buffet restaurant, some aggressive guy sits you down and then no one takes your drinks orders – by the time someone does come round, you’ve basically finished your meal.
Although not the resorts’ fault, the wasp situation is horrendous after dark. We had to abandon one meal and then could never sit outside again after dark.
The app service was a bit and miss. Sometimes I ordered and nothing ever came, sometimes I ordered and drinks came straight away. So it was a bit annoying never knowing quite what service you were going to get. In the end I just went up to the bars and ordered. The Wifi was fairly sketchy and I noticed that the cleaning around the pools could be better – it always seemed a bit grubby around the pools.
The evening entertainment was a bit non-existent. There is no main stage or anything like that for acts.
Summary
A really enjoyable stay but having been to Sani the year before this definitely felt like a grade below.

I was a bit worried that we would be disappointed about our stay, as we usually stay at Ikos but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was beautiful and there was a variety of communal spaces, which meant it didn’t feel busy, even though our stay was during half termI was a bit worried that we would be disappointed about our stay, as we usually stay at Ikos but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was beautiful and there was a variety of communal spaces, which meant it didn’t feel busy, even though our stay was during half term week.
It was so lovely that people did not feel the need to get up early to reserve sun-beds. There was always plenty of space and again, it didn’t feel crowded at all.
There were some welcome little extras- e.g. pottery, robotics and the sunset boat cruise. Staff were very accommodating in arranging these via email before our arrival.
The staff were amazing and I felt that the standard of service was pretty close to Ikos.
Food- we all really enjoyed! Buffet was ok but a la carte options were very good. Loved Kumquat and Celeste in particular.
Drinks- excellent! Any branded drink you could wish for and cocktails were really good too.
Things that would have made it perfect…
-A dining area by the pool to enjoy poolside food, drinks and snacks as an alternative to using sun-beds
-Lower temperature for the air-conditioning…it often felt warm in the room, as it only went as low as 19 degrees and you couldn’t leave the aircon on whilst out so the room ended up quite hot, even at the end of October!
-An a la carte breakfast option and a proper a la carte lunch menu at any of the restaurants
-More than one mini bar refill as standard, would have been lovely
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the relaxed ambience of the place.
I would definitely recommend.

The perfect family holiday

We spent a week here in mid October and had the best family holiday! (we have 2 boys aged 10 and 8)

As we checked in, the hotel had such a nice vibe - gorgeous smell (which you can buy as a candle in the shop!) and very nice bar areas near the lobby.
We loved our room (which was one of the cheapest options), overlooking the main bar areas etc. Plenty of space in the room for the 4 of us.
Our boys loved the waterpark pool but we spent most of our time down at the 'beach' which is a large decked area and spent our time swimming in the sea and making the most of the free pedaloes, kayaks, snorkelling gear and paddleboards.
What a treat ordering hot and cold drinks and food right to your lounger!
We've done a few all-inclusive holidays and this was the nicest hotel we've stayed in terms of:
- the ambience and style (very much to our taste!) of the room, lobby, bar areas etc and the grounds are lovely and very well-kept - high standard!
- the service was amazing, so many great staff - we've never had to wait such little time to get served
*Special shout outs to Despona in M bar and Polysemi, Dollis and Nikos in the Deck Bar where we enjoyed lunching every day. All of these were so warm and really made our stay special!*
- the food is good, no complaints - something for everyone!
- the drinks are great, cocktails are fantastic and we enjoyed the wine too which we don't usually on all-in holidays
We enjoyed the evening entertainment too!
Only things to flag:
- kids club was already fully booked when we got this (we were there during Welsh term time but was Scottish half term) - this didn't bother us as we had more family time but I guess you can book in advance. Likewise the sunset cruise was already booked as they only do this twice a week. Plenty of availability on the other free boat trip but it was a bit long for us
- there's nowhere really to walk to outside the hotel - couple of tavernas, shops, we walked up the big hill behind the hotel. But we knew this when we booked. Plenty of buses to Corfu which pick up right from the hotel door!
Overall we were very impressed with this hotel and have no complaints.
Credit to all the staff who are the friendliest and most helpful we've met in any hotel, enjoy your winter break!

From start to finish could not fault this hotel it lives up to a 5 star hotel.
It is quite a large hotel but don’t let that put you off as never queued for drinks or to be seated at meal times.

The food was excellent at every service plenty of choice fresh and warm in the buffet restaurant I would say probably the best buffet dining we have had to a high standard.
4 a la carte which were fantastic the Asian restaurant was prob our favourite and you get to use a local Greek taverna which the food and service was fantastic plus a bit of dancing and plate smashing for kids.
We upgraded to a private swim up room which our boys loved the room was very generous and presented to a high standard maid service morning and night and a restocked mini bar daily.
Water slides and aqua park was a bonus with a bar with friendly staff.
2 bars in the lobby plenty of space to sit and activity’s every night from the entertainment team.
2 pools to choose from with a fresh water pool which was a bit cool on entering but once in was lovely.
The beach area is a short walk again with a beach bar and snacks with loads of sun loungers to choose free use of the non motorised water sorts which we used daily and a really nice lad called sodarious runs it really good English and so helpful, he also works in the local taverna on an evening.
We used the inclusive boat trip to the south of the island which was very relaxing and you get to have a good swim in a small cove once you arrive the water is crystal clear so take your snorkels.
All of the staff from arriving to leaving were so pleasant always ready to serve you and with a smile
We found the pool bar staff where we spent most of our time couldn’t do enough for you they were so polite and greeted you with a smile they have a lad called Jim who works there who is one the the nicest people we came across at the hotel and a credit to the hotel and works so hard to greet you with a smile and serve your every needs, he even came to meet us on the last morning at reception to say goodbye hopefully see you next time Jim it was a pleasure and thanks for looking after us.
Don’t hesitate booking this hotel you will not be disappointed.
To all the staff who were all so friendly from the ground workers and chefs and maids keep up the good work.

This is our 3rd visit and it just gets better.
Service from all staff is 5* a special mention to Jim at the pool bar who goes the extra mile with a smile.
Rooms are spotless, pool areas well kept.

Absolutely fabulous boutique hotel. Amazing staff very attentive, kind, and helpful. All recommendations were perfect. Amazing view and the hotel was clean, decorated very nicely, and very comfortable! You even have options for pillows and we had a washing machine in our room. Wonderful location right next to a nice beach. Immediately greeted with lovely drinks by the amazing staff - everything the other reviews say about the management and hosts is true. They are helpful, warm and do everything they can to help.

Our two bedroom suite was large, well laid out with a great balcony. Ceilings quite low but felt like a really comfy ship’s cabin. The bathroom wasn’t amazing but absolutely fine. Just a shower but worked well.
Little swimming pool is freezing but cute, the pool upstairs that you can book is a bit warmer. But frankly when you have the sea outside who needs a pool?
Breakfast in the mornings on the patio was great with fresh breads, pastries and a choice from the a la carte menu.
We absolutely loved the Bellevue and would be delighted to return.

We had a fabulous week staying at this truly luxurious renovated Windmill suite - unique, full of character and with a private terrace with terrific sunset views - a real treat! Great location, superb food and fantastic service - the staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We stayed for 14 nights in a two bedroom suite. We were only one couple but we liked the size and facilities in the two bedroom. The suite had everything you would want in a five star hotel. The suite had everything you would want in a five star hotel. We loved the size of the suite but especially the balconies. There was a large balcony which had a little sun early morning and was great when returning at night before bed. The small West facing balcony was superb as it had the sun from 3pm until sunsets which were stunning.
The suite was really clean with daily housekeeping. The bed was super comfy and the suite had a nice range of Bvlgari toiletries. The small kitchen area we did not use but it did have an oven and hob, and there was a good sized fridge.
We have stayed in many nice hotels but the service we experienced from the Bellvue team was the best ever. We were superbly looked after by Dimitrios and Theodores who served up an excellent breakfast ( breakfast could also be served on the balcony which was a really great experience with such fantastic views) and Nikos in the afternoon was always on hand to suggest best restaurants and bars. All three went over and above to ensure we had a great experience at the Bellvue. A nice touch from the team who supplied a lovely chocolate cake on my wife’s birthday.
The roof pool can be hired for two hours in advance and we were pleasantly surprised that it was always available when we returned from a day on the beach.
The location is excellent with numerous restaurants, bars and supermarkets in the area. The old town is an easy 25 minute walk.
Overall I think my wife summed it up nicely when she said that staying at the Bellvue Suites was like visiting your best friends and being pampered when you are there.
We will be back.

The hotel is amazing and the staff are wonderful. The Armonia suite we stayed in was superb. Everywhere was spotless and the cleaning ladies could not do enough for us. Drinks a little overpriced but not extortionate. However the one disappointment was the buffet food at breakfast - lunch andThe hotel is amazing and the staff are wonderful. However the one disappointment was the buffet food at breakfast - lunch and dinner. It was pretty much the same every day and what wasn't eaten was generally used again. I was able to see into the kitchen and saw leftovers being cling filmed.
Please be aware that apart from the pools all other activities are chargeable.
However overall this is a fantastic hotel.

From the excellent facilities and service, extremely helpful and polite staff, our 10 day stay was relaxed and enjoyable. The mood around the pool was chilled out and peaceful. The private beachfront was beautiful with unspoiled beauty, serene with connection with nature. 30 mins walk gets you to 2From the excellent facilities and service, extremely helpful and polite staff, our 10 day stay was relaxed and enjoyable. We’ve just stayed at wonderful Athena Palace Village. Everything was excellent, very clean, spacious Roos, comfortable beds,staff is amazing, the food also was very good. The hotel is truly deserving of 5 stars.We would definitely like to come back here.We’ve just stayed at wonderful Athena Palace Village. We came here for our wedding anniversary and an early 70th birthday for me too!
We had some initial concerns but were lucky enough to meet with Despi ( manager) who was very professional and listened to our concerns and made our last couple of days so much betterWe came here for our wedding anniversary and an early 70th birthday for me too!

Just returned from a week staying at the Acrotel Athena Pallas (Armonia) . This is the first time staying in a hotel environment as normally stay in a self catering villa; so was concerned with several things like feeling overwhelmed with people, how I’d cope with the food etcJust returned from a week staying at the Acrotel Athena Pallas (Armonia) . This is the first time staying in a hotel environment as normally stay in a self catering villa; so was concerned with several things like feeling overwhelmed with people, how I’d cope with the food etc but I have to say I found it all perfect! The resort is beautifully designed and feels very intimate; I was very happy with our room, especially the fab air conditioning and loved the allocated sunbeds in full sun. I noted a previous criticism on a previous review relating to their beds in the shade; all it would take is a flag to put on parasol to say “free to use” for those in the sun whose “owners” are perhaps out for day or down on the beach so that those in shade know they can use etc?
The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. All in all it was very relaxing break, even more so that I did not have to lift a finger with any cooking or cleaning!
Beautiful sunsets and lovely sunrise swims in the warm sea.
Enjoyed the hike into the hills of which you can obtain maps and info via reception.
Loved the various swings and photo opportunity areas.
Enjoyed the food; especially the desserts and happy to report just a 4lb weight gain! Please inform Fani of this lol!
If I had just one criticism if would be that the packed lunch did not mirror the standard of food had at breakfast, lunch and dinner and personally had I been given a box/wrapping I would have preferred to create my own lunch from breakfast! I had white bread in my packed lunch (no choice) and I don’t eat this; the sandwich was not cut etc and no choice given.
Also, it may be worth considering one free access pass to spa facilities per visit as this may then open up more people booking again /using services and treatments? Just a suggestion?

My husband and I chose the Olive Green Hotel based on other guest reviews and location within Heraklion. It did not disappoint. We were upgraded from a simple room to a room with a balcony which was very comfortable. We were upgraded from a simple room to a room with a balcony which was very comfortable. Once I worked out the controls we were able to achieve a suitable temperature in the room. The shower is a unique design, being within a separate cubicle in the bedroom itself but definitely works. The beds were ideally comfortable.
The reception staff were always very polite, friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was ample with a great choice ranging from various cereals, dried fruit and nuts, hot choices with bacon, eggs etc, breads, Cretan rusks, marmalades, jams etc, juices and a decent tasting coffee.
We used the restaurant/cafe a couple of times. Very good value for money, well presented and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.
All in all I would recommend this hotel and if I have opportunity to visit Heraklion again I will choose to stay at the Olive Green Hotel.

This hotel was a disappointment.
It is located on a tree filled square with many restaurants nearby. It is a short walk to the harbor.
The front desk staff was businesslike and remote.

Although there were one or two staff present in the breakfast room, they did not engage at all with the guests even to greet them. When I asked for decaf coffee, they said there would be an additional charge. Really??

To be fair, the hotel isn't a 5 star hotel, so don't expect that. However for the location, service, food, comfort, I rate this highly at 5 stars. The toilet is separate, but the shower is in the room, and the sink is next to the pantry/closet area.
The location is fantastic. Walking distance to everything at the centre of Hereklion, and just 10 mins from the pier where you can take the ferry. The service is excellent and the staff go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The food in their cafe is nice, I had a superb dessert. The breakfast is so very good and we never have to eat lunch. The rooms are kept excellently clean. The bed is very comfy. I've stayed at many places in my travels and this hotel stands out for overall experience.
I am very happy with my Crete holiday with Olive Green Hotel and I recommend it.

It is more of a three star hotel with the amenities available and the style of the rooms. The rooms had a funky smell, I would suggest the hotel airs out the rooms and leaves windows open in-between guests checking in. Olive green hotel in Heraclion.

Excellent location- right in the city walking center with many restaurants and shops, walking distance to port, hop-on, hop-off tour busses and archeological museum.
Feels very safe even at night.
