We enjoyed a nice 45 minute stroll through the park. There were play areas for the kids and a few contemporary art sculptures. The woods were nice. There were many joggers running by us. Palazzo Acciaiuoli was built in 1341 by order of the Grand Seneschal, Prime Minister and Constable Niccolò Acciaiuoli, one of the most illustrious and powerful men in the city at the time.
The history of the Acciaiuoli family, who fled Brescia in the 12th century because they were Guelphs, lasted 600 years.
The Tower, in addition to being the tallest private building in the city, is one of the few medieval buildings left in Florence. Its grandeur still stands out over the city, within the city, dominating the entirety of its history with a formidable 360° view.

Hotel Torre Guelfa is a great hotel. The location is central, on a quiet street away from the crowd, but just around the corner from most sites like the Ponte Vecchio and a five minute walk from the Uffizi. The hotel offers good value compared to other 4 stars I’ve tried on previous trips to Florence. We had room 21 which was located up the lift, and then down a set of stairs in the annex. Thankfully, we accepted the assistance of the bellhop who helped us with our bags and showed us the way. Our room was modern and surprisingly spacious, quiet at night, was equipped with two separate showers, and had a small seating area that had what I guess was a sleeper sofa that we didn’t use. The room also had two separate air con units that housekeeping thoughtfully left on so our room was cool after a day of touring in the summer heat. Housekeeping was also thorough and made sure we had a fresh supply of thick fluffy towels every day. The highlight of our stay was the buffet breakfast and the staff. Vivian and her team were welcoming and made sure we were spoilt for choice with fresh eggs, a variety of fruit, an amazing assortment of pastries, and delicious made to order cappuccinos. We recommend this hotel.

Had a lovely stay here. The breakfast and view from the tower bar were both absolutely a highlight- breakfast had a wide range of food beautifully arranged, and the 360 degree of Florence took our breath away. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

The age of the building meant Wifi, phone signal and the aircon (battling a heatwave) were spotty at times but overall still a comfortable stay in a great location.

Loved my stay at the Plaza Hotel. Perfect location from station and other places of interest. So clean! Lovely staff. I booked the family room for my friend and I. Very clean hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Walking distance to restaurants. Breakfast was not included, but it was reasonably priced for the quality of the food (€9). I stayed here for the 3rd time with my husband in August. We haven’t been here since before Covid but we knew what it was like. The hotel hasn’t changed much and the staff are always very helpful and friendly. We had a few issues with our room such asI stayed here for the 3rd time with my husband in August. We had a few issues with our room such as marks on the wall in the bedroom and what looked like damp marks on the ceiling in the bathroom and also the skirting board was coming away. We brought this to the attention of the hotel manager who was extremely helpful and tried to rectify the issues. He did offer us another room but they were fully booked and it would mean us moving our unpacked clothes around. The manager offered us a free meal in the onsite restaurant as compensation. We took the offer and the meal was lovely albeit very big portions. It was a good stay apart from the issues.

Just spent 3 wonderful days in Venice ! We stayed in the the Plaza Park hotel in Mestre which is in the perfect location opposite Mestre Train Station and only 7 mins into Venice and not expensive to travel (5euro return) The hotel itself is very clean , friendly helpfulJust spent 3 wonderful days in Venice ! We stayed in the Aqualux for the final part of our honeymoon. After visiting Rome and Florence, we wanted somewhere to relax in luxury and the hotel did not disappoint.

As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with welcome drinks and the reception staff (who incredibly were all fluent in Italian, German and English) could not do enough to help us.
We took the elevator to our room. From the reception elevator there was quite a walk to our room. However, for the rest of the trip, we used a different lift which took us incredibly close to the bar, pool and restaurant. When we got to our room, we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us. The room was spotless and had a giant circular bed. In the room, there was plenty of space and a good sized balcony. We had a distant view of the lake and a closer view of the car pack which didn’t bother us one bit.
In the mornings, we went down to breakfast which was the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had. It had all of the regular hotel breakfast options but also had waffle machines, fresh omelettes and juicers for you to make your own juice. Prosecco was available for free at breakfast each day.
The pools are spotlessly clean and gorgeous to relax in. We particularly enjoyed the lazy river which is inside one of the main outdoor pools. Inside pools are great too. I would recommend reserving loungers using your towel before breakfast if you want a particular spot. However, they didn’t all go too quickly - much better than some places we’ve been.
Rooms were all cleaned daily and were left in immaculate condition.
Around the pool, there is an aqua class at 11am every day which is quite loud but it only lasts for around 30 mins. During this time, I couldn’t focus to read a book but used it as time to relax in a different pool. After it was over, it was calm and quiet again.
Random extra notes:
Towels and complimentary robes are great quality and smell incredibly clean.
All rooms come with a beach bag for you to pop your bits in to take to the pool which was very handy.
The hotel is less than 10 mins (very easy walk) to the lake where there are plenty of restaurants and bars to eat or drink at. We particularly enjoyed Cafe Italia which is on the lake front and served very high quality food.
I requested a late check out because we were going to the airport at 1pm. This wasn’t available as it was booked out again. However, the reception staff let us stay in our room until 12 (should have been 11am) for no extra charge. We were then allowed to use the facilities for free for the next hour until our taxi arrived.
Overall, this is one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in and we would recommended it to anyone.

We have mixed feelings about this hotel. It has the potential to be quite good but seems to have an identity crisis. It’s advertised as a spa hotel and it does have some lovely facilities but it’s ALL open to children all day. I’ve never known a spa to beWe have mixed feelings about this hotel. I’ve never known a spa to be run this way. At the very least it should be an aged 14 plus hotel so the serenity isn’t disturbed by crying babies or shrieking children especially as more and more were bringing in small inflatables into the pools that aren’t actually that big, despite there being a sign that they aren’t allowed. At times it’s a lovely peaceful area until the aerobics disturbed the peace with thumping music at 11 everyday and the pool bar also occasionally has loud music depending on who was working. Again not expected in a spa.
The gardens are immaculate, and there are plenty of sunloungers that thankfully aren’t reserved early on in the morning! Although they are placed in close rows so doesn’t feel too spread out in some places. It also got busy fri/sat/sun when it looked like day guests were using facilities so it became too busy then.
The bedrooms are nice and the daily clean was very good. Although disappointing that basics such as water are charged at 3.50 per small bottle. I would expect a couple of large bottles included each day within the price of the stay. Also tea and coffee wasn’t ever replenished.
Sadly what really lets this place down is the food. It’s very poor. Bland and tasteless so we decided to eat out most evenings despite being half board. So would definitely opt for bed and breakfast given the choice. Staff seemed friendly but service wasn’t great, no drinks offered throughout the meal or cutlery replaced at breakfast for example. We always seemed to be taking clean cutlery off of other made up tables or trying to catch someone’s attention to order drinks. The vegetarian options were so limited. Usually only one option at dinner and it was never nice sadly. The cooked breakfast was quite limited too. Bacon ran out one day completely. Pancakes were also always running out so we couldn’t have them for at least half of our stay. Just all seemed a bit disorganised.
So the hotel does have potential and is in a good location just a short walk from the town but we aren’t sure if it’s enough to entice us back although we will definitely be returning to lake Garda as it’s beautiful.

Large room, plenty storage space and room for the empty suitcases. Large bed, very comfy, dark curtains.
Fabulous breakfast with enormous choice (including juicers!) with fresh omelettes.
Dinner was also excellent, great choices, good amount and fantastic cakes.
Pools and spa also excellent,Great location, less than 5 minutes walk to the town.

I really loved this hotel , it was modern , quiet location, the pools were amazing and breakfast was good . It Would have been five stars but for the 1 minor issue of my son cutting his foot on a pointy bit of glass on the stairwell. Allocated a room on the first floor overlooking the car park when we asked if this could be changed they stated a further charge of 200euros would be required as we felt this hotel was expensive to begin with we declined. Booking.com advertise hotel rooms as city view or pool view does not mention car park view. The room did not have even a small bottle of water for arrival which once again would usually be complimentary. There was not even drinking glasses in room. We have stayed in Boutique hotels in other parts of Italy which we thought were better. Having stayed in hotels all round the world and if its birthday or anniversary the hotel would usually leave a cake/wine or fruit in room just as a little gift. First time also have ever been charged for ice for room 5euros for small bucket of ice at bar. Did not find staff overly friendly especially restaurant manager and receptionists. After 3 days bed linen not changed when I asked receptionist how often they change beds she stated every other day but said there would be a charge when I explained beds not changed this was sorted. You really should not have to ask hotels usually have a card you place on bed. It seems to be all about the money at this hotel. Furniture in hotel scratched and dusty. Never feel the need to write a negative review but was so disappointed. The only positive is the location and the pools.

We walked in with no reservations, and the front desk was extremely helpful. They made sure to give us a tour of the room to make sure it was acceptable before we accepted the room. This hotel was a short walk (around 850 metres) from the train station so no need for a taxi. The location is fabulous, a very short distance from the ferries and close to the funicular railway. It is an old hotel but the ensuite has been modernised. Staff are friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast is okay. Bed was okay but not totally comfortable. Tea/coffee making facilities would have been welcome in the room. We do miss our cuppa. Shower pressure was low and water not hot. It is better than average but ratings allow only average or very good so I’ve gone with average. Really excellent location which would make me recommend this hotel to friends.

We would like to highly recommend the Hotel Metropole & Suisse in Como. This is our third visit and we had a fabulous 6 night stay in a lovely spacious room. The hotel is perfectly located, has a great restaurant and the staff are professional and friendly. We would like to highly recommend the Hotel Metropole & Suisse in Como. Great location and service, the room was very original and right at the front of the building, however was surprisingly quiet. The hotel were able to fit us in for an additional night at late notice which was great. The hotel was very well located and the room traditional but spacious with a little balcony. The breakfast was OK and staff very friendly and helpful. This little Hotel is wonderfully positioned in the main square of charming Gubbio. Clean and comfortable. Very good value. The cappuccino is good as is the rest of the breakfast spread. We really enjoyed our stay here. Gubbio is a special place and the hotel provided a memorable sunset on the 2nd floor gardens. Their little dog also provided much entertainment as he’d push his ball to me for play. Great spot for our Canadian tour group.We really enjoyed our stay here. Charming hotel with beautiful views of the medieval town of Gubbio!

My husband and I stayed for two nights in a Junior Suite with a balcony while on our 3 week tour of Italy. This hotel has loads of charm and breathtaking views of the medieval city! The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. The garden bar/restaurant is a great spot to kick back with an aperol spritz (or whatever) and relax! The town of Gubbio is beautiful and a fun escape from the usual summertime tourist madness of the more popular spots in Italy. If you’re planning a trip to Umbria, don’t overlook Gubbio and this lovely boutique hotel!

This was my first stay here on a four day business trip. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and it is run efficiently. Breakfast has a good choice with fresh fruit, cooked food, and bakery items.

Only two minor elements let it down for me. When I asked for an iron and ironing board I was told the hotel doesn't offer this. This is important for busines trips when you need to iron shirst that have been packed on long trips.
Also, the air conditioning in the rooms me and my colleagues in didn't work. Luckily, the windows do open.
Other than that, I'd recommend it and will return if I'm working in Milan again.
