Palazzo Acciaiuoli was built in 1341 by order of the Grand Seneschal, Prime Minister and Constable Niccolò Acciaiuoli, one of the most illustrious and powerful men in the city at the time.
The history of the Acciaiuoli family, who fled Brescia in the 12th century because they were Guelphs, lasted 600 years.

The Tower, in addition to being the tallest private building in the city, is one of the few medieval buildings left in Florence. Its grandeur still stands out over the city, within the city, dominating the entirety of its history with a formidable 360° view.
