This hotel is located in Avenida 5 de Outubro, number 11, 11.and enjoys an excellent setting in the commercial centre of the Portuguese capital, between Platz Marquês de Pombal and dem Platz Duque de Saldanha. It is only a couple of metres to Avenida da Liberdade and guests will find themselves in the direct vicinity of a range of bars and restaurants as well as links to the public transport network. It is around 1 km to the famous Barrio Alto and to the other tourist attractions, such as the Alfama the EXPO centre and Belém are about 5 km from the hotel. Lisbon international airport is situated approximately 4 km from the hotel.

Superb hotel for those wanting peace, quiet and quality. The rooms are nice, clean and well furnished. Hot water for showers is plentiful. Brekky in the morning is the usual continental buffet style, hot "English brekky" food is available, friend eggs can be ordered for example. Brekky in the morning is the usual continental buffet style, hot "English brekky" food is available, friend eggs can be ordered for example. Its located a distance from the city centre, though the Saldanha Metro station is a 5 minute walk way. There are a few cafe's, bards and restaurants in the immediate area if needed. We did not chose to eat at the hotel. I would recommend though using Uber to get to and from Lisbon centre as wherever you need to go, walking is not advised due to the amount of ascent & descent involved.

Upon arrival front desk not friendly. Triple room, sofa bed was health and safety risk, had 6 inch gap to walk through, told them but they were not interested in hearing it. Breakfast waitress no smiles no manners, didn’t speak. Hotel clean.Upon arrival front desk not friendly. Lovely hotel away from the hustle and bustle. It's a good 30-minute walk to the start of the main tourist areas, and also where the sightseeing buses are. The reception area is lovely and clean and smells fresh. There is a small bar area here. We had roomLovely hotel away from the hustle and bustle. We had room 612. Lovely room with a small balcony just to stand on. Lovely arched windows plenty of light.
There were twin beds pushed together to give a super sized bed. The main problem we had was storage, the configuration of the room. It had large bedside tables. This meant you could only open one wardrobe door fully and open the drawers about 5 cm. Quickly solved by moving the bedside table nearest the window towards the window and moving everything across. Although the room attendant moved it back again every day. It could be easily resolved, keeping them in the position we moved them in. It just meant it didn't line up with the headboard. Shame, really. Also, there were only 5 coathangers, so take more if you need them. There wasn't much in terms of storage for clothes, just the 2 drawers at the bottom of the wardrobe. We did move the extra pillows and blankets from the top area of the wardrobe to create more space for clothes. The room had a safety deposit box, fridge and desk, kettle, and refreshments. The bed was really comfortable and the air conditioning very quiet. The bathroom was large, lovely, and clean, a really handy shelf to store your toiletries under the sink. There was no plug in the basin, this we believe is just what happens here. There was hand wash and body lotion here, and a shaving mirror and hairdryer in the area around the basin. The bath with shower over, was easy to operate by pressing the buttons for either a bath or shower. There were bath/ shower gel, shampoo and conditioner here. The room was spotless and towels regularly changed. Breakfast is served on lower level , a great assortment of pastries, fruit, bread, juices, drink machine. There were a few hot items. Staff friendly and helpful. It's a real shame about the storage issues of our room as it would have been 5 stars from me, really easy to sort though..but doesn't spoil the stay.

Perfect first time stay in Lisbon.

Everything about the hotel was fantastic from start to finish, the bed was super comfy and really big, the room was massive, the staff were super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was fantastic and it’s really close to two metro stations which makes getting into Lisbon City Centre really easy.

The room was well equipped with everything you would need including a free safe which is usually chargeable. The beds are extremely comfortable too.
The bathroom has a hairdryer, shaving mirror and all the toiletries you need too.
We had a balcony which again was a bonus.

It dropped one point as our sleep was disturbed by the man in the next room snoring very loudly. Even with earplugs you could still hear him. I don’t know if his balcony door was open but ours was closed and it was still really loud.
The hotel is immaculate and the staff were friendly enough.

City break to Porto

Lovely hotel, 20mins walk from centre square of Porto and then another 10 mins to the river front. There is a metro 10 mins from the hotel which is easy to use and gets you to the river quicker. The breakfast was plentiful and set you up for the day ahead. We had an early trip and the hotel arranged a breakfast pack for us to take as we set off before breakfast started. Best let the reception know the night before for this service. Overall great hotel. Good base.

We stayed here three nights 2 - 5 November 2024. First impressions were good. We arrived early and, as expected, the room wasn’t ready, but we were able to check in, just not move in. Things went downhill after this. After a few hours of exploringWe stayed here three nights 2 - 5 November 2024. First impressions were good. We arrived early and, as expected, the room wasn’t ready, but we were able to check in, just not move in. Things went downhill after this. After a few hours of exploring Porto, we were able to access the room. I tried to lower the temperature, but as it’s November, no air con was available! Apparently it’s switched off during the cold months! It was in the low 20’s in the daytime, during our whole visit, so not exactly cold. I had to open the window with all of the concomitant noises, to cool the room down. There were no USB ports, which is unforgivable these days. The room was sparsely furnished, with only one desk chair and desk and no arm chair. Very little storage was available in the room, but there was a large safe. The bed was on the small side and we slept OK. The lack of air con meant we had to open the window to get cool air in to the room and thus we had a LOT of street noise during the night. The TV was quite small and there was no way of knowing what the TV and radio channels were. I found it difficult to turn off, though my partner managed it.
The bathroom had very little storage space. Lots of towels but only two hooks. The water was very hot. The shower was very good although it took me a while to adjust to the correct temperature. My partner caught his arm on the hairdryer fitting and grazed his arm. The water was hot enough to wet shave with, but the sink didn’t retain the water, even with the plug closed.
Breakfast was ok, better than some, worse than others. Lots of fresh fruit and a decent coffee machine. All the usual suspects, cereal, hot food, cold meats and cheeses. The bakery section included mini Portuguese tarts and good croissants.
The staff were all very good. The location is bit out from the centre but easily accessed from Marques Metro station. Would I stay here again? Probably not in the cooler months with no air con. In the summer? Maybe.

Just got back from a week at the Cristal in Porto, we had a fantastic time. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff at breakfast were very helpful. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff at breakfast were very helpful. The hotel is a bit of a walk (25 mins) to the centre but if are able it is nice to walk but otherwise there is a Metro station not far and also bus stops. All the people we came into contact with at the hotel were very polite and friendly, must especially mention Chief Leo (which is what he told me his name was) and also Hugo in the bar as they were both so friendly also always available for a chat. Thank you all of you at Cristal for making our stay so special.

This was a very elegant and beautifully designed hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, our room was very comfortable with a view over the garden terrace. It is in a rather out of the way location for all the main sights but we had no trouble calling aThis was a very elegant and beautifully designed hotel. Booked two rooms for a four night stay.
The first room was an upgraded(€25 per night) larger room with a queen bed, relatively modern and nice bathroom with toiletries. The second a single room but this had a nice outside balcony.

We found the reception staff, in fact all staff very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was a mix of some warm dishes i.e quiche, bacon, beans and cold offerings like cheeses, pastries etc, all were regularly replenished and of good quality.
The location is slightly out of the hustle and bustle but a 20min walk downhill and a little longer back, the hotel is also on a bus route and taxis were around. A few good restaurants and shops were close by the area felt pretty safe and quiet.
The hotel has a nice outdoor area to just sit out and chill after a long day.
We had a late return flight and reception were more than happy to look after our cases once we checked out so we could enjoy the day.
Overall for the cost we thought the hotel was excellent, the nice breakfast and friendly helpful staff added to the experience and we will definitely stay here again.

From the A22, take exit no. 5 towards Portimão and follow the signs for Praia da Rocha. When you reach Praia da Rocha , take the 3rd exit at the Rotunda dos 3 Castelos (Fonte) towards Av. das Comunidades Lusíadas. At the end of the road, turn right at the Rotunda da Marina and go up Estrada da Rocha, taking the 1st right towards Rua António Feu. Go around the hotel, turn left onto Av. Tomás Cabreira and you will find our entrance, where you can park briefly to unload your luggage and check in. You can obtain information at the reception of the Jupiter Algarve Hotel about using the garage (additional cost), as well as other paid and/or free public parking options in the vicinity .

The hotel is in a great location right by the beach and close to some shops and bars. The rooms are excellent bright well furnished with walk in shower mini fridge and television. Excellent staff, helpful & cooperative. Huge breakfast buffet. Comfortable beds. We upgraded to a higher floor to get a good view - well worth it. Excellent value for money. Clean room, great location in the pedestrian street of Praia da rocha, wonderful ocean view room. Breakfast quality and with plenty of choice lunch at the bar of excellent quality. Great indoor pool that allowed us to spend pleasant moments.Excellent value for money. Amazing hotel with great service. Good drinks, food, on the strip by the beach. Lovely place to visit year around. My family rates the hotel highly. I was a bit hesitant about booking this hotel but we had the best stay. Everything was spotlessly clean and the staff were wonderful! We loved the pool area and although we didn’t try breakfast, the evening meals in the restaurant were first class. Our studio apartment was basic with no frills but had everything we needed and it was comfortable and spotless. Pillows were a little lumpy as they are filled with chopped foam but we still slept well. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to the Antillia as it offered excellent value for money.

Good hotel in central location - jacuzzi and coffee need work

5 minute cab ride took us to a friendly greeting on arrival and a refreshing welcome drink each. Very unexpected and nice touch was much appreciated too.
While room was an odd shape, it was air-conditioned, large and spacious. Well-equipped kitchen with fridge and kettle was an added bonus. Best part was access to the spa and the pool area. Had the turkish bath and sauna been available for longer (than 1500-1800), that would have been great. Only the jacuzzi (dirty and over-chlorinated) disappointed along with the burnt coffee served in the bar.
Recommend this hotel for the central location to shops, cafes, bars and bus stop to Furnas (which we visited 3 times in 5 days). Customer service from front desk, maintenance (to resolve wifi issue) and the bar was very impressive too.
Would revisit this hotel and recommend it to others.

We stayed in an apartment room. It was fairly clean. Very lumpy pillows. A great location right in Ponta Delgada. Budget friendly bolthole for exploring the beautiful island of Sao Miguel

I would grade this more as a European 3* but it still offered good value considering it's location and standard of accommodation. We had to move rooms after a few days as our original room (502) faced some outlets that omitted a nasty smell of an evening which meantI would grade this more as a European 3* but it still offered good value considering it's location and standard of accommodation. We had to move rooms after a few days as our original room (502) faced some outlets that omitted a nasty smell of an evening which meant we could not sit out on the balcony - reception staff speak great English and thankfully managed to swap to new room. The pools (indoor and outdoor), steam room and sauna were great but jacuzzi needs servicing as only a couple of jets actually work and was very murky. Spa treatments very reasonable and very good.
(Read a review saying you need to bring your own towels to use pools - this is not true, you can obtain pool towels from reception for EUR10 deposit.)
Didn't use restaurant but bar staff were great and food was good (chips are crisps, not fries though!)
Kitchenette is exactly that, two hobs, combi microwave and kettle - cooking a family meal for 5 was a challenge but doable with a camping style outlook!
All in all a great budget friendly base for exploring the island or taking boat trips and being able to semi self cater.
