This hotel is located in Avenida 5 de Outubro, number 11, 11.and enjoys an excellent setting in the commercial centre of the Portuguese capital, between Platz Marquês de Pombal and dem Platz Duque de Saldanha. It is only a couple of metres to Avenida da Liberdade and guests will find themselves in the direct vicinity of a range of bars and restaurants as well as links to the public transport network. It is around 1 km to the famous Barrio Alto and to the other tourist attractions, such as the Alfama the EXPO centre and Belém are about 5 km from the hotel. Lisbon international airport is situated approximately 4 km from the hotel.

Superb hotel for those wanting peace, quiet and quality. The rooms are nice, clean and well furnished. Hot water for showers is plentiful. Brekky in the morning is the usual continental buffet style, hot "English brekky" food is available, friend eggs can be ordered for example. Its located a distance from the city centre, though the Saldanha Metro station is a 5 minute walk way. There are a few cafe's, bards and restaurants in the immediate area if needed. We did not chose to eat at the hotel. I would recommend though using Uber to get to and from Lisbon centre as wherever you need to go, walking is not advised due to the amount of ascent & descent involved.

Upon arrival front desk not friendly. Triple room, sofa bed was health and safety risk, had 6 inch gap to walk through, told them but they were not interested in hearing it. Breakfast waitress no smiles no manners, didn’t speak. Hotel clean.Upon arrival front desk not friendly. Lovely hotel away from the hustle and bustle. It's a good 30-minute walk to the start of the main tourist areas, and also where the sightseeing buses are. The reception area is lovely and clean and smells fresh. There is a small bar area here. We had roomLovely hotel away from the hustle and bustle. We had room 612. Lovely room with a small balcony just to stand on. Lovely arched windows plenty of light.
There were twin beds pushed together to give a super sized bed. The main problem we had was storage, the configuration of the room. It had large bedside tables. This meant you could only open one wardrobe door fully and open the drawers about 5 cm. Quickly solved by moving the bedside table nearest the window towards the window and moving everything across. Although the room attendant moved it back again every day. It could be easily resolved, keeping them in the position we moved them in. It just meant it didn't line up with the headboard. Shame, really. Also, there were only 5 coathangers, so take more if you need them. There wasn't much in terms of storage for clothes, just the 2 drawers at the bottom of the wardrobe. We did move the extra pillows and blankets from the top area of the wardrobe to create more space for clothes. The room had a safety deposit box, fridge and desk, kettle, and refreshments. The bed was really comfortable and the air conditioning very quiet. The bathroom was large, lovely, and clean, a really handy shelf to store your toiletries under the sink. There was no plug in the basin, this we believe is just what happens here. There was hand wash and body lotion here, and a shaving mirror and hairdryer in the area around the basin. The bath with shower over, was easy to operate by pressing the buttons for either a bath or shower. There were bath/ shower gel, shampoo and conditioner here. The room was spotless and towels regularly changed. Breakfast is served on lower level , a great assortment of pastries, fruit, bread, juices, drink machine. There were a few hot items. Staff friendly and helpful. It's a real shame about the storage issues of our room as it would have been 5 stars from me, really easy to sort though..but doesn't spoil the stay.

Everything about the hotel was fantastic from start to finish, the bed was super comfy and really big, the room was massive, the staff were super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was fantastic and it’s really close to two metro stations which makes getting into Lisbon City Centre really easy.

The room was well equipped with everything you would need including a free safe which is usually chargeable. The beds are extremely comfortable too.
The bathroom has a hairdryer, shaving mirror and all the toiletries you need too.
We had a balcony which again was a bonus.

It dropped one point as our sleep was disturbed by the man in the next room snoring very loudly. Even with earplugs you could still hear him. I don’t know if his balcony door was open but ours was closed and it was still really loud.
The hotel is immaculate and the staff were friendly enough.

Lovely hotel, 20mins walk from centre square of Porto and then another 10 mins to the river front. There is a metro 10 mins from the hotel which is easy to use and gets you to the river quicker. We stayed here three nights 2 - 5 November 2024. First impressions were good. We arrived early and, as expected, the room wasn’t ready, but we were able to check in, just not move in. Things went downhill after this. After a few hours of exploringWe stayed here three nights 2 - 5 November 2024. First impressions were good. We arrived early and, as expected, the room wasn’t ready, but we were able to check in, just not move in. Things went downhill after this. After a few hours of exploring Porto, we were able to access the room. I tried to lower the temperature, but as it’s November, no air con was available! Apparently it’s switched off during the cold months! It was in the low 20’s in the daytime, during our whole visit, so not exactly cold. I had to open the window with all of the concomitant noises, to cool the room down. There were no USB ports, which is unforgivable these days. The room was sparsely furnished, with only one desk chair and desk and no arm chair. Very little storage was available in the room, but there was a large safe. The bed was on the small side and we slept OK. The lack of air con meant we had to open the window to get cool air in to the room and thus we had a LOT of street noise during the night. The TV was quite small and there was no way of knowing what the TV and radio channels were. I found it difficult to turn off, though my partner managed it.
The bathroom had very little storage space. Lots of towels but only two hooks. The water was very hot. The shower was very good although it took me a while to adjust to the correct temperature. My partner caught his arm on the hairdryer fitting and grazed his arm. The water was hot enough to wet shave with, but the sink didn’t retain the water, even with the plug closed.
Breakfast was ok, better than some, worse than others. Lots of fresh fruit and a decent coffee machine. All the usual suspects, cereal, hot food, cold meats and cheeses. The bakery section included mini Portuguese tarts and good croissants.
The staff were all very good. The location is bit out from the centre but easily accessed from Marques Metro station. Would I stay here again? Probably not in the cooler months with no air con. In the summer? Maybe.

Just got back from a week at the Cristal in Porto, we had a fantastic time. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff at breakfast were very helpful. The hotel is a bit of a walk (25 mins) to the centre but if are able it is nice to walk but otherwise there is a Metro station not far and also bus stops. All the people we came into contact with at the hotel were very polite and friendly, must especially mention Chief Leo (which is what he told me his name was) and also Hugo in the bar as they were both so friendly also always available for a chat. Thank you all of you at Cristal for making our stay so special.

This was a very elegant and beautifully designed hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, our room was very comfortable with a view over the garden terrace. Booked two rooms for a four night stay.
The first room was an upgraded(€25 per night) larger room with a queen bed, relatively modern and nice bathroom with toiletries. The second a single room but this had a nice outside balcony.

We found the reception staff, in fact all staff very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was a mix of some warm dishes i.e quiche, bacon, beans and cold offerings like cheeses, pastries etc, all were regularly replenished and of good quality.
The location is slightly out of the hustle and bustle but a 20min walk downhill and a little longer back, the hotel is also on a bus route and taxis were around. A few good restaurants and shops were close by the area felt pretty safe and quiet.
The hotel has a nice outdoor area to just sit out and chill after a long day.
We had a late return flight and reception were more than happy to look after our cases once we checked out so we could enjoy the day.
Overall for the cost we thought the hotel was excellent, the nice breakfast and friendly helpful staff added to the experience and we will definitely stay here again.

I had a horrible experience with mold in my room at a hotel near by. I got really sick after 2 days and found the ILUNION. They could not have been nicer. Got me in a room right away, allowed me to bring my bags over early, were kind (which after the horrible treatment at the other place meant a lot) and the room was perfect! They even arranged a cab for us the next morning to the airport. After the stress and physical reaction to the mold, I just needed a clean room and to distress and I got that at the ILUNION! Thank you!!!!

First time in Barcelona. The hotel was excelent and in a very good area. The metro station was only five minutes away. All the sightseeings and the monunemnts were only 10 minutes of walking from the hotel. Nice experience and we would like to visit Barcelona and the hotel again!First time in Barcelona. The hotel is a great location to get around Madrid. We enjoyed restaurants nearby. The metro was very close.
The staff were very helpful and kind. The hotel is well maintained. The breakfast is worth adding to the room cost. They offer a large variety and it’s good.

After doing a lot of research we selected this hotel because we were in town only for an evening. The check-in was very smooth thanks to James who was very helpful. The view of town in the night with colorful lights was mind blowing (see pictures). Though we were facing crowded street but still there was no noise in our room.
The location could not have been be better. Mercado San Miguel and Plaza Mayor were just outside. Puerta de Sol and metro stations were 200 meters away. A lot of shops, restaurants and bars were within short walking distance.
The breakfast spread in the morning was very good. We had booked a taxi for airport at 8.15 AM through hotel and the driver was waiting for us in the lobby after we finished breakfast. Keep it up.

This small hotel is ideally located and the reception staff were nice. The room was tiny but ok for a solo traveller. The problem was the air conditioning wasn’t working so the room was freezing. We slept really well. Clean and quiet enough... Well connected with all buses, coaches and the underground, about 30 min from the center. A lovely clean hotel with nice comfortable rooms in a good location. A warm welcome from Ramesh and nothing seemed too much trouble. The included continental breakfast is good too, plus there are other options if you require something warm. I booked a ´Queen´ room last weekend. What it was was a room for a single bed with a Queen bed squeezed in. The room was tiny - the smallest I have ever stayed in. Excellent location just 10 minute walk from Montparnasse station. Friendly welcome. Our Prestige room was on the top floor ,with a sit out balcony! Totally unexpected. Very clean, good quality bedding and towels. My.only complaint is that there are no hand grips in the bath nor an anti slip bathExcellent location just 10 minute walk from Montparnasse station. Great location for exploring Paris. Close to the metro and the train. Some lovely restaurants and a supermarket on the same street, so very convenient locally too.

Stayed for one night in Paris, great value, within 5 min walk of decent restaurant and bars!! Room was really clean, bathroom tiny, nearly had to reverse in to use the loo!! I only stayed for one night and the overall experience was great.
I arrived very late at night for the check-in due to delayed flight and had to ring the bell so I could get inside. The security guard was at the front desk who checked me in. Very friendlyI only stayed for one night and the overall experience was great.

Very friendly and professional even though I could tell I was disturbing him. I didn't have breakfast at the hotel. As for the room, it was not too small but definitely can accommodate couples. The room smelt fresh and clean which was welcoming for me because I was ready to crash. Plenty of towels and complimentary drinks like tea and coffee. I booked the room straight from the hotel's website and I'm not too happy about the price even though I got the best rate compared to 3rd party websites. It could be a lot cheaper but it seems everything has gone up due to covid. That said, the hotel is a great location to stay in, right next to Gare Montparnasse about 11mins walk, for anyone who has to take the train early in the morning.

I’m being pretty generous with my score but this hotel was decent.
It’s not near the touristy areas but it’s close to public transit that will take you there.
The rooms are small and dated. The whole property needs a refresh but it gets the job done.

Only one block from the Milan Cathedral, Hotel La Madonina is perfect to situated. It is also on the bus line that takes you to the Last Supper. High end shops are within walking distance. Second stay here. Very good rooms. Good breakfast and service. Security. Convenient location. Would recommend for average cost hotel near Duomo, metro, trams, shopping. Lift is small but serviceable. We had two rooms one single and one double. Our son had the single which was in the front of the hotel with a lovely view. Two windows that opened. Very bright and airy. This room was noisy with the street noise and the trolleys. The bathroom was nice. OurWe had two rooms one single and one double. The room was clean, the towels white and lovely, hot water. Very efficient shower. The bed hard and the pillows hard. There is a breakfast but we ate across the street. This hotel is central to the Duomo, shopping, restaurants. When you drive in you will not see a sign. The hotel has lettering on the wall but it is not visible. In spite of all the good features of this hotel I would not stay there again. I did not care for the atmosphere.

This is a the perfect place to relax and spend some calm time enjoying the beautiful water. I mainly want to thank Francesco, who was brilliant in conducting a wine-tasting and Aldo, a first-class mixologist...both of whom make you feel you've made new friends. The room was large and comfortable. The views are spectacular. The restaurant is first class. I only wish we could have stayed longer at Hotel La Madonnina and would make it a point to come back next time we travel to Italy!

I’ll start with the positives and end with a negative. It’s really short and convenient to walk from Geneva Cornavin Station to this hotel, which is a typical Ibis—no surprises there. Overall, I was very pleased with the reception, housekeeping, and kitchen staff, the comfort of the room, and especiallyI’ll start with the positives and end with a negative. It’s really short and convenient to walk from Geneva Cornavin Station to this hotel, which is a typical Ibis—no surprises there. Overall, I was very pleased with the reception, housekeeping, and kitchen staff, the comfort of the room, and especially the breakfast, which offered both great taste and variety. At reception, I remember Daniel being particularly attentive to every customer. He spoke multiple languages, including English, Spanish, and French. The neighborhood is noisy, but I had no issues with sound because I kept the windows closed—thanks to the quality soundproofing, I assume. It’s neither the nicest nor the worst part of town; at no point did I feel unsafe. There are various food options nearby and in town, but for budget reasons, I opted for the Migros at the train station and made my own sandwiches instead of paying double-digit prices for a quick bite. If you're looking for better bars and pubs, the ones in the old town are a much better option within a 15- to 20-minute walk. Getting around is easy from the hotel—whether by foot or public transport—and as a tourist, you can use public transport free of charge during your stay. Geneva Tourism offers anyone staying in approved accommodation a free transport card. They emailed me a QR code prior to my arrival. I reckon your hotel can also assist you with that. I used the tram to Carouge and the train to the airport for free. Yellow shuttle boats also accept this QR code. The only downside was a managerial issue. I booked a flexible reservation through Accor’s website, which didn’t require prepayment. However, the hotel charged me the full amount shortly after I made the reservation. Another customer mentioned a similar complaint on Accor’s website, so it seems to be a recurring problem. The reception staff explained it was only a "pre-authorization," but I do know the difference, having managed a front desk for a decade. I didn’t escalate the issue, as my stay was otherwise pleasant, and I knew the responsibility lay with hotel management, not the receptionists. Lastly, keep in mind that the airport is just a five-minute train ride from Cornavin Station, which is useful if you're short on time.

Traveled with my wife (me to attend a conference and her to tour Geneve). The price point for the hotel is value for money. Small room with small shower cubicle but that is what Geneva has to offer I guess, if you are on a budget.

Dimitri at the front desk was very kind and helpful. Breakfast has a nice assortment of breads, cakes, cheese, eggs, sausages, juices and a Franke coffee machine.
The sound proofing is amazing! Once you close the door and window you could never hear a pin drop on the outside, or however the saying goes. Hotel is quite close to the Cornavin train station and walking distance to good sights like the Jet d'Eau. Close by are some Turkish, Italian, Ethiopian and Lebanese restaurants with affordable meals (by Geneva Standards)
Only downside is you have to cross some shady part of town to get to the hotel...

The hotel was clean and modern. Rooms are small but contain everything that you need. Nice hot shower and clean bathroom.
Service from reception was very good and we were able to store our luggage in the hotel after we checked out.
I would definitely stay again!

Hotel is close to many bars, restaurants, and Migros, that are just steps away. It is easy to take the S16 Train from the Airport, to the Hardbrucke station. The Tram 4 in front of the Hotel (Schiffbau Sta), will take you to the Sihlquia/HB, that has the main train/bus station and tour group meeting points. I took the Tram 4 each morning to the Best of Switzerland’s Tour meeting location. Breakfast buffet from 6:30am to approx 9:30am, was excellent, that had abundant choices. Area was in safe area, with easy access to public transportation, using the SBB mobile app. All staff encountered were so professional. Great value and recommend
