Great restaurant service, TV not great.

My TV didn’t work. However the service in the restaurant in the morning was excellent. Vinayak and Praeik were very good every day. Friendly and responsive. Loved the pool.

We have just returned from 5 nights at Dukes and it went above and beyond our expectations in every single way.
Before we arrived they arranged all airport transfers with me over email which was quick and easy. We landed around 08:30 and found the hotel driver at the airport easilyWe have just returned from 5 nights at Dukes and it went above and beyond our expectations in every single way.
Before we arrived they arranged all airport transfers with me over email which was quick and easy. We landed around 08:30 and found the hotel driver at the airport easily who was carrying a sign with our name on. On the drive to the hotel he pointed out different buildings and told us a bit about them.
When we arrived we had such a warm welcome, our bags were taken from the car by the concierge team and we were shown to reception. Upon noticing that I was pregnant (large and 26 weeks!) they immediately asked me to sit down and brought me water. The room wasn't ready so we went across the road to the Nakheel Mall and had some breakfast.
The reception area is beautiful with fresh flowers that smell amazing. We had our photo taken in front of the beautiful flowers and later that afternoon/evening we had a knock on the door and the most incredible dessert was delivered to us with our photo printed onto white chocolate!
When we returned to the hotel around 11:45 the room was ready and we were taken by an amazing member of staff Awfar up to the room, who was so polite, friendly and helpful the whole time we were there. He could not do enough for us. The room was stunning, huge, his and hers sinks, large double shower and bath. The double balcony offered us views of the Nakheel Mall and The Palm Tower which is the largest building on The Palm. The second balcony offered us a restricted view of the Burj Al Arab.
We headed straight to the beach and pool area which were stunning, so clean (as was the entire hotel). After getting settled on loungers, we were greeted by staff from the bar and restaurant Ula who took our drink orders. Make sure you eat at Ula, we had lunch there one day and dinner there another day and the food was amazing. The view from the pool and beach is magical, you see the iconic Dubai skyline with the Ain Dubai as well as some of The Palm fronds. From the gym on the 14th floor you get a great view of The Palm and the marina. From the Khyber restaurant on 16th floor you get a fantastic view of The Palm and the marina which is gorgeous at night, you can sit on the balcony here and enjoy a drink.
Breakfast at the hotel was delicious, all different choices covering different cultures. We really enjoyed the fresh omelette station, the pastries are delicious, freshly squeezed juices everyday, staff greet you with such a warm welcome and get you tea and coffee to start with. We enjoyed sitting outside everyday for breakfast, most of the outdoor area is shaded for eating.
We used the hotel cars quite a bit as they said it was difficult to get a standard taxi in rush hour but they were significantly more expensive than standard taxis. My advice for anyone would be to download a taxi app to use there to keep your taxi costs to a minimum - use Careem or Uber and taxis will be so cheap. We will definitely do this next time we go.
We booked a couple of excursions directly through the hotel but these can also be done directly online for a fraction of the cost. However, we still really enjoyed them - we did a sunset boat tour (we didn't see the sunset so be aware you may miss it completely as it was blocked by buildings through the marina but is still sold as the sunset tour) and we went to the 148th floor of the Burj Khalifa.
We ate at some beautiful restaurants while we were there, on the first night we went to The Tap House in Downtown Dubai, I reserved an outside table so we could watch the Burj Khalifa light and fountain show and it was breathtaking. They do a show every 30 minutes from 6pm until 11pm and it never ever gets boring. The food at The Tap House was delicious and you couldn't get a better spot to watch the show.
We also ate at Tamoka Dubai, the steak was fantastic. After dinner we sat on the beach and had a drink and even managed to catch some of a drone show which was magical.
We would also highly recommend Pai Tai, you can get a small boat across to the restaurant and get an amazing view of the Burj Al Arab at night. Gorgeous little spot, authentic Thai food and so reasonably priced.
When it came to our time to leave all the staff who were working in reception came to say goodbye and asked if we had a good time. They brought us water and asked if we wanted any tea or coffee which they brought to us in takeaway cups so we could take it with us.
A very special mention to Awfar who made our experience so memorable. When he realised I was pregnant he arranged for a gorgeous display to be done in our room and gave us a big congratulations, everyday when he saw us coming into reception he would get the lift for us, if he saw us at the pool he would always come and chat with us, he would always ask if we needed anything else and if we were enjoying ourselves, if he saw me standing in reception he would always come straight over and tell me to sit down and offer to get me a drink. He really went above and beyond to make our time there so special. Thank you Awfar!

Amazing experience, friendly staff went out of their way to ensure everything was in order at all times.
Aamir, the security in charge was excellent in his service. Couldn't of asked for a better person to help us with anything we needed.

First time to Dubai and loved every minute of it! The hotel was amazing, the view from the beach was stunning, the infinity pool was on another level…the food was fabulous and the staff were so nice and friendly and nothing was too much trouble! We did have a situation with our room and it was dealt with immediately, we were upgraded to the 17th floor with a panoramic view, it made our holiday. Hnin, the hotel manager was superb, caring, supportive and went over and above and out of her way to sort everything out. She is an asset to the hotel…we will be going back next year….

Always accomodating FO-Christine, she ensured that all my specific requests are well noted. Staff here are all smiling & with warm welcome everytime I stay. Beddings are the best, very comfortable & I have always liked the daily complimentary laundry that was extended to me being a silver elite member.

Hotel is very nice and elegant. Food has good variety and great taste.
Staff is very helpful especially Christine from the front desk.
Bus service is good to go around popular sites. A bit far from the main city for checking out the souls but can get cab to goHotel is very nice and elegant. Food has good variety and great taste.

Spectacular stay at the W

We booked the W Yas Island for two weeks at the end of October and it really did not disappoint. Such a memorable trip made even more special by the warmth and spectularity of this hotel. Such a memorable trip made even more special by the warmth and spectularity of this hotel. Where to start the hotel is an absolutely stunning piece of architecture. The art deco interiors really give it the edgy vibe. The rooms were a great size we booked a wonderful room but we're pleasantly surprised upon arrival when we were upgraded to a spectacular room with a great view of the marina and the race track.
The Room:
We had a twin room. The room had a nice sized balcony. There was a good amount of storage (I don't travel lightly so I wouldn't have complained if there was an extra cupboard or set of drawers). We had a wonderful set up with rose petals and a little cake to welcome which was great. Lighting was very nice too good for getting ready. It's also worth mentioning we had a stunning view of the sunset from our room too. Thr bathroom had a speerate bath tub and shower and the toilet was seperated too within the bathroom. The only thing i felt it lacked abit of privacy as it was access through slidinng doors which were partially frosted glass. House keeping were great through out we requested a couple of extra towels and hangers and everything arrived quite quickly. They were so polite and always did an excellent job making up our room.
Breakfast:
We booked b&b and it did not disappoint so many options. The garage restaurant has a live cooking station in the middle so you can see everything cooked fresh infront of you. There was such a vast choice.the fruit station was my favourite always fresh and sweet. There's a nice little yoghurt station too and a nice variety of pastries.
What made the breakfast so memorable for us were the staff. Every morning we came down we were treated like royalty. The staff would always come over to have chat ask us how we were, speak with my young daughter about how she was enjoying her self which was so nice because she really felt included in our conversations. They were constantly on hand for any requests we had so just an extra special mention to Andrei and his team, Zachariel, Ehalith, Kevin, Bimala, Hussein on the juice station and the two hostesses who used to welcome us every morning. I wish I could have gotten the names of all the waiters and waitresses who helped us because the service and warmth from the team really blew me away.
The Roastery Cafe
Really lovely little cafe at the front of the hotel with a very nice peaceful seating area outside and great coffee and pastries. I had some lovely conversations with the manager here a really lovely lady who's name again I wasn't able to get. But really nice setting if you don't fancy the restaurant.
Kids club
My daughter absolutely loved the kids club. She adored Meera and the other lady with the glasses who worked there and they did so well to keep her busy. It was very clean and seemed well structured. The only thing which I found abit off was the kids club was chargeable after two hours. We didn't really have a need to leave her there any longer but there were a couple of days where we found ourselves rushing to get back to collect her before the chargeable period started. Needless to say my little one lived the kids club and really looked forward to going.
The gym
Amazing gym. The cardio equipment is facing the marina so it's absolutely stunning going for a run with such a great view. It was very clean it wasn't particularly busy when we'd go and the personal trainer was very nice and polite. Sauna and steam rooms again very clean and well maintained and the towels were really nice and fluffy too.
Location
The location of the W is everything. There is a shuttle that takes you to the mall and the parks and it's also about 15minute walk to Yas Bay where there are a few nice restaurants and also a supermarket which is handy. Cabs come quite frequently but it's worth downloading one of the cab apps like yango as it can be difficult getting one during busy periods.
The only thing to note is given you're overlooking the race course it can get quite noisy. There was one night where the cars were going past midnight and even with the doors closed you could still hear it.
Also the beds in the twin rooms are singles. Some hotels offer small double beds which would have been abit more comfortable but we managed fine the pillows were fluffy and the mattress was good too.
Overall I would love to stay at the W again. It's a spectacular hotel but what really makes it is the people who work here. Never have i stayed somewhere where I have felt so welcome and so comfortable it was like home away from home. We felt slightly emotional leaving this time round but this stay really has made us want to come back and stay here again.

Very nice, helpful and friendly service. Food was also very tasty and very good value for money. Very cool and beautiful view of the race track and fascinating building. An amazing hotel with even more amazing staff

Not even sure where to start with this hotel. I’m writing this on our last evening here and I have never been so sad to leave a hotel before. We usually holiday in Dubai in November but decided on a change. This hotel has to be one of the bestNot even sure where to start with this hotel. I’m writing this on our last evening here and I have never been so sad to leave a hotel before. We usually holiday in Dubai in November but decided on a change. This hotel has to be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in and for context we have at some wonderful ones. The arrival was very smooth, we had notified the hotel in advance we would arrive early as we had an overnight flight into Dubai. The hotel is very impressive to look at when you drive in, our baggage was taken from us so we didn’t have to hold on to it whilst we checked in. Check in was smooth and our room was ready, we had an upgrade to a spectacular room. Our room was sun the main building overlooking both the marina and the Grand Prix circuit , the view was stunning. We found out when we arrived that the adult pool was closed for a few days so we headed to the sun deck which is the family pool. Staff were very lovely. Breakfast at the hotel is very busy but the most extensive breakfast buffet I have ever come across you name it they have it. Food is of a very high standard and the servers work so hard and are so friendly.
The hotel gives free tickets to Yas Beach we went to the beach on a couple of days and it was fantastic, great little beach with full bar and food service. Most days we used the Wet Deck for the pool once it reopened this is a fantastic pool and the staff are amazing. The wet deck has a happy hour from 5-8pm so we went there in the evening for a few drinks. After dinner we went tk the W Lounge all the staff were amazing but we would like to mention nan (I’m sure o haven't spent her name correctly) she was a wonderful employee and looked after us so well.
Tonight we decided to eat the the Garage restaurant and we are so annoyed we didn’t try it before our last night . This place is fantastic.
We will 100% come back to this hotel.
